Where organizational and user impact shake hands. I hold this site to the standards I’ll help you establish.
Your product passed the scan, but someone still couldn’t book an appointment. Automated tools can catch some accessibility problems, but not all of them. In a GDS benchmark, the best automated tool fully detected 40% of 142 known accessibility barriers. Many barriers automation misses require human judgment, manual testing, or real people navigating your platform or service.
What I do most:
Accessibility audits & remediation guidance
I review websites and digital products for WCAG conformance, identify barriers, and explain what needs to change in language your team can actually use. Findings include practical remediation guidance, with formal conformance reporting available when it’s needed.
Content development
I develop clear, useful digital content for a range of audiences and purposes, including writing, editing, accessible content, and alternative formats. My work has included published writing for the American Foundation for the Blind, contributing to Teach Access’s Fundamental Concepts & Skills resource, and adapting graphic novel illustrations for an audiobook through audio description.
Accessible tech development
I help design and build technology with accessibility and usability in mind from the start. My process can include UX and front-end work, combining rounds of usability testing with rapid prototyping, and refining concepts through feedback and iteration.
Inclusive usability & UX testing
Standards don’t catch everything. I run moderated usability testing with a representative mix of participants, with disabled people and assistive technology users deliberately included, to uncover barriers that automated tools and conformance testing can miss.
Kristen didn’t just tell us what to fix. She helped us understand why it mattered to the people we serve. Her review reflected a real understanding of our users and their needs, not just a checklist. Thoughtful, thorough, and genuinely user-focused: exactly the kind of partner you want.

Why text and display customization?
Because people don’t all read and process digital content the same way. The Text & display control in the main navigation lets you adjust the font, text size, line spacing, and background to suit what works for you, and it remembers your choices. You know what works for you better than we do.
There is no overlay widget on this site because they more often do more harm than good. Instead of fixing the underlying code, they often break what they’re supposed to solve, and more organizations are getting in trouble for choosing what seems like a quick fix. In 2025 the FTC ordered accessiBe to pay $1 million over deceptive claims that its widget could make websites conform to WCAG.
